Boat Fishing

Members have access without further payment to extensive boat fishing on some of the finest piking waters in the country. Members now have 20 excellent boats to choose from.

Our boats are moored at a variety of locations: the River Bure at Wroxham, Ranworth, Coltishall and Horning, the River Thurne at Martham and Hickling Broad, the River Waveney at Beccles, Geldeston, Oulton Broad and Somerleyton, the River Yare at Thorpe St Andrew and Rockland Broad, the River Ant at Barton Turf, two boats on Filby Broad at Filby and six boats on Ormesby Broad (often referred to as Sportsman) at Ormesby St Michael.

None of our boats are provided with outboard motors. Instead, all are registered with the Broads Authority (BA) as "motor craft" so that members may use their own motors (petrol and / or electric) without needing to pay any additional tolls to the BA. Members may also use their own electric (but not petrol) motors on the Trinity Broads system. Members should note that the BA byelaws currently prohibit the use of engines when trolling.
